Use of Neem Fruit Powder
Neem Fruit Powder is a soil application product as organic fertilizer. About 300 Kg per Acre (750 Kg per Hectare) is adequate for field crops like Rice, Wheat. Vegetable and crops like Pepper (chilles), Cotton, Tobacco, Sugarcane need higher quantity per Acre (400- 500 Kg).

Neem Fruit Powder is either mixed with other chemical fertilizers like Urea, DAP and applied OR applied separately. It can also be mixed with compost, vermiculate, farm yard manure, poultry manure, bone meal, sea kelp or any such conventionally used organic substances used as soil feed for plants.

Neem Fruit Powder when applied as basal dose in soil at planting, sowing or within few days of planting acts as fertilizer for the season. For long duration crops another dose is recommended at flowering / fruiting stage.

Neem Fruit Powder is generally crushed so that 90% of particles pass thru’ 2 mm mesh sieve. At this particle size, field application either manually or by mechanically is easier. If they are pulverized to finer particle size, the particles drift in air and get wasted.

Neem Fruit Powder also can be made as small cylindrical pallets (of 2 – 3 cm length and 0.5 cm diameter). However, heat is used while making such pallets and additional moisture is added in the process. This negates the basic principle of Neem and therefore not recommended process.

Neem Fruit Powder is to be stored under shade in Jute / HDPE bags so that sufficient ventilation is there in the bag. If the product is stored for longer duration (say more than 3-4 months) under higher humidity, fungus infection may develop. In case the storage is required for longer duration under higher humidity (of above 65% Relative Humidity – RH), it is recommended that the contents of bags are decanted on the floor, spread thinly on floor and mix the product evenly and dry for two days and then bag it again.
